Like many non-profit organizations, White Oak-New Riverkeeper Alliance relies heavily on the time, talent and  generosity of our incredible volunteers. We thank you for expressing an interest in volunteering with our organization.

We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Here are examples of how volunteers are helping make a difference every day:

River Clean Ups: Join us for a paddling trip to remove trash and debris from your local waterways. We provide the canoes and kayaks!

Operation Medicine Drop: Help at one of our drug take back events by assisting local law enforcement officers collect pills and medications at one the drop off locations and logging the types and quantities of medications dropped off before they are safely disposed of.  

Event & Program Planning: Assist our staff with the planning and implementation of some of our annual events and programs, such as river clean ups, the New River Banks Party, Operation Medicine Drop and our Annual Meeting.

By working together to make a difference, our volunteers feel a sense of pride and fulfillment. In addition, it is a great way to make new friends with other like-minded people who have a passion for the environment and waters around them.
