The White Oak-New Riverkeeper Alliance (WONRA) and the Onslow County Historical Society are hosting a Cardboard Boat Regatta. The Regatta will be held at the New River Banks Party at the New River Waterfront Park. The park is located between the bridges in downtown Jacksonville by the USO and the historic Pelletier House. Boats will be staged no later than 10:30 am for public judging.
There are three brackets for the Regatta:
High School - Grades 9-12. Registration fee: $10
Adult - Ages 18 and above. Registration fee: $20
Corporate/Challenge - open to businesses, civic groups, fire departments, etc. Registration fee: $50

Amateur boat builders are challenged to design, build and navigate a corrugated cardboard boat that will:
ü Complete a short racecourse, and/or
ü Be a visual wonder to compete in the “Prettiest/Ugliest” Competition
